Meet Larry

Larry Long isn’t running because it’s convenient. He’s running because he watched Donald Trump and his enablers tear apart the federal government—and nobody stopped them.

Larry Long is a scientist, former EPA hydrologist, and candidate for U.S. House in Georgia’s 7th District. After more than 21 years in federal service, Larry saw firsthand how reckless leadership and government shutdowns cost working families billions. He’s running for the people of the 7th District to restore accountability, protect the working class, and make government work the way it’s supposed to. He’s not running against a person; he’s running for the people. He’s Direct. He’s Defiant. He’s Done.

More Information

For more than 21 years, Larry worked inside the federal government as a scientist and hydrologist at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). His job wasn’t political. It was practical: protecting water, land, and public systems that working Americans rely on every day—and making sure taxpayer dollars were used responsibly.

Over the course of his career, Larry worked across the country and here in Georgia, overseeing projects involving water quality, stormwater runoff, wetlands protection, mining, nuclear facilities, and major federal infrastructure. He worked alongside farmers, landowners, small businesses, tribal governments, and state agencies—often stepping in as a mediator when disputes threatened livelihoods or communities.

Larry understands federal policy not as an abstraction, but as something that directly affects paychecks, food prices, insurance costs, and local economies.

During the Trump administration, Larry watched as federal agencies were deliberately gutted, experts were pushed out, and chaos replaced competence. Government shutdowns became political tools. Trade wars hurt farmers. Environmental rollbacks increased long-term costs for families and businesses alike.

That breaking point is why Larry decided to run.

He believes government should work—consistently, honestly, and without manufactured crises that hurt working people first. He believes the environment isn’t an ideological issue, but an economic one. And he believes voters deserve leaders who tell the truth about costs, consequences, and accountability.

Larry Long isn’t a career politician. He’s a career public servant who decided to step forward and demand better.

He’s running to represent Georgia’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives to restore competence, protect working families, and bring steady, fact-based leadership back to Washington.
